Dear Parents,

The Kindergarten program here at Evergreen has many unique characteristics that we have put into place because of our commitment to hands on learning, developmentally appropriate practices, and teaching to the needs of each child. We have a low student-teacher ratio, with a limit of 15 students.

We use a combination of curricula that employ phonics, whole language, art, music, movement, manipulatives, and writing to prepare the children to enter the first grade. We are firm believers in the benefit of play, providing the children with the freedom to explore and create as they learn and socialize.  Character education is also part of our program. We view our entire school as a community in which we take pride and responsibility.  In addition, we feel that allowing children a transitional year to blossom and mature better prepares them for the following year in a more structured setting.

We would love to welcome your child into our classroom for Kindergarten this fall. 

Openeings still available for 2011 school year. Registration for fall 2012 begins February.
